Ashton Kutcher Shoots 'Killers' Role

Ashton Kutcher Shoots 'Killers' Role

Lionsgate has tapped Ashton Kutcher for the lead in the action comedy "Five Killers." According to Variety, Kutcher will play a former hit man whose attempts to go legit are complicated when a contract is taken out on his life. As the title suggests, five killers are sent to hit the hit man, which is just never good.

Bob DeRosa wrong the original script, with Ted Griffin pitching in on a rewrite.

"Legally Blonde" and "21" helmer Robert Luketic will direct, while Kutcher and his Katalyst partner Jason Goldberg will also produce.

Kutcher's summer comedy "What Happens in Vegas" has taken in nearly $220 million worldwide. His television productions have hit a bit of a bumpy patch, though, with the swift cancellations of "Opportunity Knocks" and "Miss Guided."
